Mr. AruhoKarugahi Joseph

 In December 2016, Mr. Aruho Joseph completed a professional development programme as a Trainer of trainers (TOTs) in small hydropower plants operations and maintenance at University of Dar-esSalaam (UDSM) funded by African Union (AU) through East African Community (EAC) and Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD)-Uganda. He has a MSc. in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University (MUK) and other qualifications from Kyambogo University (KYU) and former Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo (UPK) as indicated above.

Mr. Aruho is the current programmes coordinator in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has experience of twenty (20) years in technical work mainly in electronics, telecommunications, computers operations, service and maintenance  (Radio Uganda, UEB, Wilken Telecommunications Ltd, BIS, UPK, KYU) and fifteen (15) years of teaching, supervising Students’ Projects (University, UTCs & VTIs). He is a consultant in the technical field at National level- an assessor and reviewer of higher institutions academic and professional programmes at Uganda National Council for higher Education (UNCHE), curriculum developer and programmes assessor, reviewer, syllabi preparation at National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC), an examiner at Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) and then Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB). Also has experience in Solar photovoltaic Installations and Maintenance.

Mr. Aruho’s research interest is in the areas of energy conservation, energy efficiency and saving, environmental sustainability in terms of reduction of greenhouse gas emissions that lead to global warming, Renewable energy depletion and enhancement,  power plants engineering and control.
