Mrs. Babirye Susan Wabwire

Mrs Babirye Susan Wabwire has a bachelor’s degree of Telecommunications Engineering, a diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and is currently finalizing a Masters degree in Telecommunications Engineering under the SIDA Bilateral Research phase IV funded by Sweden.

She is experienced in Mobile computing and Cloud computing and is currently researching the convergence of mobile and cloud computing benefits to Uganda. Her main areas of interest are Telemedicine and providing micro cloud services especially in the area of health and communication to developing countries.

She has experience of more than 5 years lecturing and supervising student’s research projects at the undergraduate level and is currently employed by Kyambogo University under the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering as a graduate fellow and the assistant Projects coordinator at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. She has practical experience of more than 7 years in Mobile communication and ISPs.

She has gained substantial practical experience and training in Network monitoring and surveillance, Radio Frequency planning and optimization, and transmission planning. She participated in the Warid-Airtel network merger which included monitoring and configuring 2G and 3G Networks(BSC, BTS and radio networks, RNC, WiMAX, Internet/VSAT, GPRS, HLR, MScs, MGWs and OCS. She briefly offered services to Computer Frontiers and Google Uganda and has experience in operating the different monitoring tools which include: SCG, SAM, Prometheus (Grafana), CACTI.

Mrs Babirye Susan Wabwire participated in the Rural Communication Development established by UCC to extend ICT services to rural areas in Uganda. She also has hands-on experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of electrical devices which she acquired in her early carrier years.
